High-end retail fit-out for Manchester City Football Club (MCFC)
project Overview

Silvaman designed and delivered a high-end retail fit-out for Manchester City Football Club’s new store located in the heart of Manchester’s bustling Arndale Shopping Centre. From full MEP design and installation, to complete interior fit-out and build of a modern retail space we worked alongside the client to ensure everything was carefully curated and tailored to MCFC’s brand.
One of the key challenges was coordinating with multiple European contractors—some based in Spain and Italy—chosen by the client for specialist installations, including large TV displays and illuminated signage. Language barriers were overcome using practical tools such as translation apps, and coordination was carefully managed throughout. The project was delivered on schedule despite limited site access and complex delivery logistics due to the store’s central city centre location.
OUr Objective
The primary objective was to create a modern, interactive retail environment that aligned with MCFC’s global brand identity. The store needed to deliver a unique, immersive fan experience—including an exciting standout feature – an interactive photo booth where customers could take photos wearing team shirts and receive printed images that made them appear alongside the players.
Challenges And Solutions
- Challenge:
Language barriers: A number of subcontractors and client reps were Spanish or Italian speakers.
- Solution:
These challenges were managed through the use of Google Translate, visual coordination tools, and proactive communication to avoid delays.
- Challenge:
Restricted access: Due to the store’s location in the busy Arndale Shopping Centre, all deliveries and site access had to be meticulously scheduled.
- Solution:
Silvaman implemented a strict logistics plan with coordinated access times, ensuring no disruption to the project timeline.
- Challenge:
Specialist European contractors: Certain elements, such as custom TV displays and illuminated signage, were completed by contractors brought in by MCFC
- Solution:
Silvaman liaised directly with them to ensure seamless integration into the store build despite language and distance barriers.
Results and Impact
The project was delivered on time and to the high standard expected by an international brand like Manchester City FC. The finished store now offers fans an engaging and immersive retail experience, helping to boost foot traffic and drive brand engagement in one of Manchester’s busiest shopping hubs
